My Story

Hi, I’m Chantal!

I’m so glad you landed here. This is where I get to tell you a little bit about myself and how my journey took me here. Lets start with the easy stuff. I’m a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother of two beautiful daughters and a furry Golden Retriever daughter named Lacey.

I was not always in the holistic and natural medicine industry. It took me a while to figure out this path was meant for me. I have worked in many industries such as event planning and corporate for many years.

My Story began in 2011 when I was pregnant with my second daughter. I started to develop extremely low iron, low blood pressure and felt very dizzy most of the time. I thought it was just severe anemia from being pregnant. I was hoping that once I had my daughter all my symptoms would go away. Unfortunately, that was not the case. In fact, things got a whole lot worse. I started to get full blown vertigo episodes where the room would not stop spinning and I felt constantly dizzy and like I was in a deep foggy haze 90% of the time. It was horrible!  I had a 2-year-old running around and I was also trying to care for a newborn baby all while feeling like my body was giving up on me. I remember going to my doctor a couple of times and he was extremely dismissive and told me it was just the added stress of being a mother of two, “it will go away” he would say. My family and friends tried to be as supportive as they could but it was hard for them to understand the depth of what I was going through.  This was a very difficult time for me and I felt very alone because no one understood exactly what I was going through and we could not figure out WHY this was happening to me.

I continued on this way for almost a year. The symptoms continued and at times got worse, I simply learned to not draw attention to it when I was around other people and pretended everything was fine, when in reality I felt like I was slowly dying on the inside. One day I reached my breaking point and knew nothing I was experiencing was normal.  I knew it was not in my head (as some people made me feel) and I knew it was more then just “stress”.  I marched into my doctor’s office with my 9-month-old baby in tow and demanded to get the help I needed and deserved.  My doctor finally took me seriously as I was as pale as a ghost and could not walk straight.  He then referred me to a vestibular (inner ear) physiotherapist and sent me to a specialist for a slew of tests.  The results revealed that I had permanent nerve damage in my left ear, known as vestibular neuritis. How did this happen you might ask? This is still a mystery, however I tend to believe it was simply from a viral infection.

The physiotherapist provided me with different exercises that would alleviate the acute sensation of vertigo.  I was however still left with a constant “off” feeling that didn’t seem to go away.  This is when I decided to take a natural approach and I began to build my team.  I began to see a Naturopath, Live Blood Analyst, Chiropractor and Iridologist.  This holistic and natural route started to serve me well.  These people were actually “listening” to me and helping me.  It was actually when I started to change my diet that the real magic began.  I started having a clearer mind, the foggy brain I had was being lifted and I could think clearly once again.  I no longer had a lingering dizzy sensation and I seemed to find that pep in my step again.

It was at this time that I realized the impact that nutrition and food had on our overall health and I became a HUGE advocate for clean eating.  So much so that I decided to go back to school for Holistic Nutrition.  I knew that I had to share my new found knowledge with the world and I wanted to help others feel their best.  During my schooling another opportunity fell into my lap, to train and become a Live Blood Analyst.  Live blood had its own special place in my heart because it helped me on my journey and it was the measurable tool that I used for my own health.  It made perfect sense for me to pair this with my nutrition skills.

So here I am, 9 years later, a certified Holistic Nutritionist and Live Blood Analyst.  The journey to get here has been difficult and I still look back and don’t quite know how I did it. However, I wouldn’t change it for the world because I feel like it was “my calling” and this is what pushed me into this wonderful industry and helped me realize my passion.  My vestibular neuritis condition might not ever go away and it’s something I live with daily. I would also be lying if I said I still didn’t have hard days or weeks feeling off or dizzy.  However, I can happily and proudly say that nutrition is something that I can control and it’s my secret weapon.  It’s really quite simple actually…if I eat well, I do feel my best!  As Hippocrates once said “Food is thy medicine”.  YES!  I couldn’t agree more!!!

I am now determined to continue learning as much as I can and I am dedicating myself to helping others on their health journeys.
